***this book is about a very unlucky girl named sadie who lives in a town where superstition is real. sadie has a dog with 1 eye named wink. she meets a VERY lucky boy for many reasons (1 is meeting sadie) . they grow together and he gets her her 17th b-day present (17 is the age they are judged lucky or not) (he was already judged he was lucky) the present was a telescope. he did not know it had a mirror in it and then because it had a mirror she broke it.
