In the pines

Here, David St. John has gathered poems that first appeared as limited edition chapbooks and uncollected work. Spanning twenty-five years in St. John's career, the work reflects the progression of a major voice in American letters in poems that predate Hush to those that follow the publication of his selected poems in 1994. In earlier poems reflecting the decadence of their times to recent work that embodies the world in which we presently live, St.

John's fresh imagery draws the reader into elegant poems that resonate with the mysteries of life.
